Training:      CPR Re-Certification 

Date:           Tuesday, August 3

Time:           6:15 - 8:15 p.m.

Location:      Early Childhood Initiatives Center (HWCEC)

Participants: EC Professionals

Description:  Infant/toddler CPR Re-Certification course only.  You must have a current infant/toddler CPR certification to take this renewal course.  There is a nominal fee of $5.00 per participant.

 

 

Training:      PAS Roundtable Sessions 

Date:           3rd Thursday of every month (excluding December)

                   September 2010 - July 2011

Time:           11;00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Location:      Early Childhood Initiatives Center (HWCEC)

Participants: Directors, Administrators

Description: 

PAS Roundtable Sessions will review intent, purpose, and value of each PAS item - walk through each strand of a PAS item - provide in-depth discussion of documentation.

Training:      AMA: Performance Appraisals 

Date:           September 9, 16, 23, 30 and October 7

Time:           6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Location:      Early Childhood Initiatives Center (HWCEC)

Participants: Directors, Administrators

Description:  A series of classes to build your Human Resources knowledge base.  One of five classes to earn an American Management Association Human Resource Certificate.  

Applications are required.  Limited to 12 directors/administrators.  Please contact Michelle Stephens at mstephens@hwccenter.com for a program announcement and application.  Applications must be received by August 13.

 

 

Training:      HELP! Conversations with Parents

Date:           Thursday, September 16

Time:           6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Location:      First School, Fayetteville

Participants: EC Professionals

Description: Parent communication is at the center of a healthy environment for children.  If you’ve ever asked yourself:  “How am I going to tell them….?”, “Why did I just say that?” or “How do I respond when they…?” come and discuss ideas, suggestions and common parent communication issues.

Description: Physical Activity is fundamental to our programs.  Come gather ideas about how to get you and your children moving! 

 

 

Training:      First Aid/CPR

Time:           9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Description:  Full Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certification course.  There is a nominal fee of $5.00 per participant.

 

 

Training:      Pre-Service Information Session 

Date:           Thursday, September 30

Time:           11:30 - 1:00 p.m. or 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Location:      Early Childhood Initiatives Center (HWCEC)

Participants: Directors, Administrators

Description:  Pre-Service is a program that will train teachers and staff on Minimum Licensing Requirements.  10 trainings are offered throughout the year for centers to send new employees for intensive training to include behavior management.  The information session will review all aspects of the programs, content, and other benefits for participating centers.  The information session is open to all directors and administrators of early childhood programs.

 

 

Training:      EPI-Pen and Allergy Training

Date:           Monday, October 11

Time:           6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Description:  How to manage allergies in the classroom, signs to look for when a child is experiencing an allergic reaction, and how to use an EPI-Pen if needed.

 

 

Training:      Food For Thought - Child Care Nutrition

Date:           Thursday, October 14

Description: Nutrition is at the center of a quality childcare program.  We will discuss meal patterns, food safety and the value of offering a wide range of foods to our children. 

 

 

Training:      Greg and Steve: Music, Moving and Learning

Date:           Monday, October 18

Time:           6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Location:      Arends Arts Center, Bentonville High School

Participants: EC Professionals

Description:  

Come join us as Greg and Steve will demonstrate the use of music as a tangible means to teach basic skills, encourage language acquisition, develop social awareness, diversity and to motivate children to learn while having fun.  Tap into children's natural energy: with opportunities to participate in the same manner as your students would in the classroom, on the playground or in their homes.  You will be provided with quality information that has been proven to be effective with children of all backgrounds, including special education classes.

 

Training:      The 3rd Dimension of Art - 3D Art

Description: 3D art is all around us and there are many ways to incorporate this valuable area of artistic expression in your classroom.

Aim4Excellence is an online national director credential for early childhood administrators. The credential focuses on the essential knowledge and skills you need to deliver high-quality programming for children.

The online modules are designed to help you better manage the many tasks you juggle everyday as an early childhood director. The content is specific to your work and designed around your unique needs as a busy adult learner.
