Volunteer Spotlight: Shannon Shoptaw   

Shannon Shoptaw received President Obama’s Volunteer Service Bronze Award for her significant volunteer efforts at Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center.  In 2009, Shannon volunteered 240 hours to support quality early childhood education throughout Northwest Arkansas.

 

Shannon has served on the Children’s Enrichment Center Board of Directors every year since 1999 except for 2005 when she was term limited.   In that capacity, she has acted as Board Secretary, Chairman of the Public Relations and Fundraising Committee, and since 2009, as Board Chair.  

 

Shannon also engages her company, Marketing Drive Worldwide, in support of the Children’s Enrichment Center.  The creative team at Marketing Drive has donated over $50,000 in professional design service in support of the Early 

Childhood Initiatives Center and its brand development.  Congratulations Shannon.

The Blue & You Foundation For a Healthier Arkansas has recently partnered with the Early Childhood Initiatives Center to certify 528 early childhood professionals in The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR.  Thanks to the Blue & You Foundation, young children throughout Arkansas are more likely to receive emergency care when needed.  We greatly appreciate Blue & You Foundation's willingness to take initiative on behalf of young children.
